Each Sunday of Advent (Nov. 27 – Dec. 18) the children will be lighting the Advent Candle and receiving a special gift to remind them of the birth of Jesus Christ. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the children will light the Christ Candle.

Each Sunday’s message during the Christmas season will take a look at the Gospel as found in Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol.” Join us as we meet Ebenezer Scrooge and journey with him as he encounters the “ghosts” of Christmas past, present & future.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service
We will gather to sing, hear the Christmas story and light candles on Saturday, December 24 at 4:00 pm. Take a pause from all your rushing around to join us and be refreshed.

Community Christmas Tree Lightingchristmas-christmas-tree-3

On Sunday, November 27 at 5:00 pm we will gather on the front lawn of the church to light the Community Christmas Tree. After singing some carols, hearing the Christmas story from the Gospel of Luke, plugging in the tree – we will move inside the church to warm up with snacks & hot drinks. Come join us as we kick off the Christmas season.

We had a great time handing out candy & looking at classic cars. Here are some pictures of that event.

FaithBuilders
Our children’s ministry on Sunday mornings, called FaithBuilders, helps the children learn more about Jesus and the Bible. The children are dismissed during church to go to their special time of learning.

To help our children learn about God, we try to use a variety of methods. Here is a picture from the time we used Legos to teach them the Bible. It shows what they created to tell God’s Word. We celebrated with a Lego cake!

Welcome

If you are looking to worship in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, then Faith Community Covenant Church may be just what you are looking for. Faith Community  is an active member of the denomination known as the Evangelical Covenant Church. Along with our area sister ECC churches of First Covenant Church and Austintown Covenant Church, we strive to express the same missionary view that the ECC was founded on. We are followers of Jesus Christ – who are learning weekly through God’s Word, who are seeking to encounter the Lord in worship, and who are seeking to serve Him and our community in a variety of ways.

Faith Community’s worship style is one that combines traditional and contemporary expressions of the Christian faith in a warm and inviting way. Pastor Mike Zabel teaches us from the Bible each week and helps us learn how to apply God’s Word to our daily lives. We worship at 10:45 on Sunday mornings. Children are part of our worship until they leave for the nursery and Sunday School following a special time for them

We are located in the Brownlee Woods area of Youngstown at 1919 E. Midlothian Blvd. (Corner of Midlothian & Sheridan Rd), Youngstown, OH  44502. We can be contacted at 330-782-9338.
